Mareile Kaufmann, Ph.D.

Ehemalige Research Fellow

Mareile hat an der Universität Hamburg im Fach Kriminologie promoviert. In ihrer Doktorarbeit untersucht sie Sicherheitspraktiken und Resilienz in vernetzten Gesellschaften. Sie war Doktrandin und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Peace Research Institute Oslo, wo sie noch auf einer 10%-Stelle angestellt ist. Ihr derzeitiges Projekt an der Universität Oslo (IKRS) erforscht, wie digitale Technologien und Praktiken Kriminalitätskonzepte beeinflussen. Sie studiert Datenüberwachung und Prognose-Algorithmen, aber auch Praktiken, die digitale Überwachung herausfordern und mit ihr spielen.

Mareile editiert regelmässig Sonderausgaben und hat in mehreren internationalen Forschungsprojekten zu Sicherheit und Technologie gearbeitet. Sie ist Ko-Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe "Digital Matters" im Nordic Center of Excellence for Security Technologies and Societal Values und leitet das Critical Data Network. Mareile ist Autorin des Buches Resilience, Emergencies and the Internet: Security In-Formation (Routledge).

Am Weizenbaum Institut ist sie Teil der Forschungsgruppen "Quantifizierung und gesellschaftliche Regulierung" & "Demokratie und Digitalisierung" im Juni & Juli 2019.
