About

Wolfgang Kerber is Professor of Economics at University of Marburg. His research project “Regulatory issues of the digital economy” focusses on competition policy and innovation (economic power of large tech firms, Digital Markets Act, dynamic competition), data policy (e.g., data access, data sharing, data trustees, data governance, data protection law and Data Act), as well as the complex interplay between regulations in the digital economy. It should to contribute to the shaping of the institutional framework for markets in the future digital economy.

This research project is based upon his life-long research on (1) competition policy and innovation / IP (with ideas from Schumpeter, Hayek, and evolutionary economics), and (2) institutional economics / law & economics (with a background in German Ordoliberal thinking) with much experience in collaborating with legal scholars on a wide range of different policy issues.

Wolfgang Kerber was Director of the Walter Eucken Institute (Freiburg), Visiting Scholar at the Law Schools of University College London, Queen Mary University of London, and University of California (Irvine), as well as Fernand Braudel Fellow at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), and Hauser Global Fellow at NYU Law School (New York).
