Research Retreat

Once a year, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers at the Weizenbaum Institute meet for a one-week Research Retreat.

The Research Retreat has been part of the Institute’s programme since the outset. It takes place once a year over a period of three to five days providing a space for researchers to work on theses or other collaborative projects without outside distraction. The Research Retreat is separated by peer groups, i.e., doctoral researchers, postdocs, and Principal Investigators.

(Guided) writing workshops form a fundamental component of the Research Retreat. Relaxation sessions (e.g., yoga) are usually incorporated as well, along with group outings. In the past, Research Retreats have taken place in the Berlin area as well as digitally.

PhD Research Retreat 2024

This year's Retreat will be held at Seminarhaus Taubenblau in Gut Stolzenhagen, with a special emphasis on writing and small workshops, which will also enhance the experience of this year's retreat.
