Prof. Tobias Schulze-Cleven, Ph.D.
Tobias Schulze-Cleven is Associate Professor of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) where he also serves as the Director of the Center for Global Work and Employment. His research examines comparative employment relations across the wealthy democracies from a political economy perspective. Interested in the challenges to and strategies for collective action at the nexus of social protection and economic growth, he focuses on contemporary labor market policymaking and distributional conflicts in the ongoing transformation of higher education.
Tobias will use his stay in Berlin to elaborate what a labor studies perspective can contribute to the debate over the future of work. In that quest, he builds on a volume he coedited last year on Revaluing Work(ers): Toward Democratic and Sustainable Prosperity (Cornell University Press / the Labor and Employment Relations Association).
