About
Yannick Fernholz joined the research group as a PhD student in May 2022 and is doing his doctorate in the field of ethics in artificial intelligence. He completed his Master's degree in business informatics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
As part of his doctorate, he is investigating digital infrastructures (including smart cities) with regard to ethical aspects such as security and data protection in terms of the subjective perception and prioritisation of the various stakeholders concerned. The interaction between users and technical systems is comprehensively analysed in order to gain insights for a holistic ethics by design approach in technology development.
