MLaw Pablo Schumacher

Research Fellow

Pablo Schumacher studied law at the faculty of law of the university in Basel, Switzerland, where he was assistant to Professor Dr. Herbert Zech from 2015 to 2017. The focus of his Master's studies was on intellectual property law. He wrote his published master's thesis on the subject of "The waiver of the private use exception according to art. 19 URG in the review of general terms and conditions". After his studies, he completed internships at a first-instance civil court, a Basel commercial law firm and a smaller law firm focused on private law before he was admitted to the bar.

Pablo Schumacher is Fellow of the Research Group 16 for the period from August 2020 to January 2021. During his fellowship, he is conducting research on his dissertation on the topic oft he IP-protectability of trained AI-Systems and the possibilities of using such systems as means of security and financing.
