Prof. Luis Guijarro
About
Prof. Luis Guijarro received the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunications from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), València, Spain. He is currently a Professor in telecommunications economics and regulation with the Department of Communications, UPV. He has coauthored the book Electronic Communications Policy of the European Union (2010).
He has researched in traffic management in ATM networks, e-Government and European Union Policy. His current research interests are in the economics of both communication networks and digital platforms, where he has contributed to the topics of peer-to-peer interconnection, cognitive radio networks, net neutrality, wireless sensor networks, data platforms and 5G networks.
During his stay at Weizenbaum-Institut, he will conduct research on the economic interaction between platforms and internet service providers, and on the impact that network effects and neutrality issues have.
