About

Laura von Welczeck is a research associate in the research group “Reorganisation of Knowledge Practices“ since 2025. She studied information systems, sociology, and business administration in Berlin, Stuttgart and Edinburgh. In her work, she uses neo-institutional and process-theoretical perspectives to explore phenomena of digitalisation and datafication, particularly in public administration. She is particularly interested in the future visions, potentials and expectations associated with digital technologies and data.

During her studies, she worked at the Department of Information Systems at Freie Universität Berlin and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. Here, she was part of the BMG-funded projects „Maturity Model for the Digitalisation of Public Health Agencies“ (2021-2022) and „Assessment and Evaluation of the Digital Maturity of Public Health Agencies“ (2022-2025), as well as the BMBF-funded project „Modelling Socio-Epistemic Networks" (2021-2024).

She is part of the scientific editorial team of the social science YouTube format „Menschen und Muster“, produced by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg in cooperation with the Weizenbaum Institute.
