Prof. Dr. Christoph Neuberger

Scientific Managing Director (FU), Member of the Board & Principal Investigator

Christoph Neuberger is a full professor of media and communication science with a focus on "digitalisation and participation" at Freie Universität Berlin and Scientific Managing Director (FU) Weizenbaum-Institut e.V.

Before that, he taught as a professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (2011-2019) and Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (2002-2011). He also held a professorship at the University of Leipzig (2001-2002). Studies, doctorate and habilitation at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.   

He is a regular member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). His research focuses on the digital transformation of media, the public sphere and journalism. 

He is Principal Investigator of the research group “Digital News Dynamics“.
