Dr. phil. Bastian Lange

Former Research Fellow

Bastian Lange, Dr. phil., private lecturer at the University of Leipzig. He studied geography and cultural ethnology in Marburg/Lahn and urban planning in Edmonton (Canada). He taught as a visiting professor (2011-2012) at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2011-2012) and the University of Vechta (2018-2019). Between 2015-2018, he conducted research in the COWERK network, using open workshops as an example to investigate how collaborative economic forms develop in production. Since 2017 he has been a research and knowledge partner in the INTERREG Europe project Urban Manufacturing and investigates collaborative policies for maker spaces in Europe. Since 01.10. 2019 he represents the COST network "The Geography of New Working Spaces and the impact on the periphery" in Germany.  

In 2008 he founded the research and consulting office Multiplicities in Berlin. For 15 years Multiplicities has been supporting politics, business and creative scenes in the European context on ways to sustainable urban regions. Multiplicities advises municipalities, cities, states and EU programmes on the development of innovative locations with collaborative participation processes.
