Former Research Fellow

Patrick Smieskol holds a master's degree in social sciences from Humboldt University in Berlin. Until recently, he worked on the topics of digital transformation, data protection and data governance in the interdisciplinary research group "Digital Self-Determination" at the Einstein Center Digital Future. He will soon start his PhD at Humboldt University, investigating ecological conflicts.

In June 2023, Patrick Smieskol will be a Research Fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute, studying the impact of the ecological transformation on work. Of particular interest is, on the one hand, the relationship of new technologies such as AI to the ecological transformation and, on the other hand, the ecological critique from which conflicts may arise.
