Michael Bossetta

Michael Bossetta is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Media at Lund University. His research interests revolve around the intersection of social media and politics, with an empirical focus on elections in the European Union and United States. He has conducted studies on political campaigning, political participation, disinformation, and cyberattacks. Currently, he is researching the effects of digitally mediated emotions on political behavior.

Michael holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Copenhagen University and Master’s degrees from Copenhagen University (Political Science) and Lund University (European Studies). He completed his Bachelor’s studies in Philosophy at Columbia University. Prior to being a Research Fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute, Michael has conducted research stays at the University of Amsterdam and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Alongside his research, Michael produces the podcast series Social Media and Politics, freely available online or any podcast app.
