Katharina Berr is a doctoral candidate in the research group "Reorganizing Knowledge Practices". Before joining the Weizenbaum Institute, she studied Media and Communication Science at Stockholm University and Design Thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam. In addition to her studies she gained experience in local journalism, in the development of digital information and entertainment formats and in planning a large-scale event on media literacy.
In her research she is interested in the relationship between humans and media technology on the one hand, and in the potentials and areas of tension of interdisciplinary research on the other. One focus is on the growing demands on communicative processes – both in academic cooperation as well as at the interface with various societal stakeholders.
