Katharina Berr

Research Associate

Katharina Berr is a PhD researcher in the research group “Reorganizing Knowledge Practices”. Before that, she studied media and communication studies at the University of Passau and Stockholm University. Her research focuses on the role of scientific expertise in the networked society, and how it is communicated, challenged and defended in digital spaces. She is also very interested in working with (digital)ethnographic methods.

Alongside her research activities, she also engages in practical work as a science communicator: for example, as an editor in the YouTube format „Menschen und Muster” (in collaboration with Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg), or in the context of various projects to promote science communication from the social sciences and humanities in civil society and politics.
