Dr. Beatrice Jetto

Former Research Fellow

Beatrice Jetto was a research associate at the Einstein Center Digital Future (Berlin), part of the research group BBBlockchain: a blockchain-based citizens participation platform for urban development. Previously, she was a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Management of the University Politecnica of Marche (Ancona, Italy). She has a PhD in Media, Music and Cultural Studies from Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), a MSc in International Marketing from the University of Technology (Sydney, Australia), a MSc and BSc with honor in Economics from the University of Studies of Bologna (Italy).

Currently, her research interests include government digital transformation; web3 platforms for urban development, trust, transparency and citizen participation in digital platforms, human-centered design, Industry 4.0 and stakeholders’ ecosystems. She is also interested in supply chain managements, digital ethnography, customer experiential knowledge and value sensitive design.  She has published in international peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Customer Knowledge Management, the International Journal of Systems Science: Operations & Logistics and the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Beatrice’s research at the Weizenbaum Institute focuses on sustainability through participation in the societal digital transformation. She investigates CivicTech initiatives at a municipal level, focusing on the investigation of barriers and enablers appearing in multi-stakeholders’ environments of Civic Tech supported socio-ecological transformation processes.
