Arash Pourdamghani is a PhD student at the INET research group at the Technical University of Berlin, working under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Schmid. He is also an associated researcher with the research group “Digital Economy, Internet, Ecosystems and Internet Policy” at the Weizenbaum Institute. Previously he was a researcher at the University of Vienna and completed research internships at IST Austria and CUHK Hong Kong. He got his B.Sc. from the Sharif University of Technology.

His interests are in algorithm design and analysis with real-world applications in networks, distributed systems, and blockchains. His particular focus is on self-adjusting networks. On top of the theoretical research, he is interested in the economic and social aspects of networks and algorithms.

His research at the Weizenbaum Institute focuses on the effects of generative AI on the economics of social networks. As generative AI grows, the question arises as to what extent such content can have a meaningful impact. His goal is to identify areas of impact and provide methods to quantify the impact.
