Alexandre Costa Barbosa

Former Research Fellow

Alexandre is currently an expert advisor to the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee – CGI.br, where he works on the agendas of platform regulation, educational platforms, internet and democracy, digital inclusion, and digital literacy, and is a member of the Nucleum of Technology of the Movement of Homeless Workers (MTST). He is an engineer, with a master’s degree in sustainable territorial development at Sorbonne Paris 1. He has also acted as a senior innovation researcher at the Institute for Technology and Society of Rio de Janeiro.

At Weizenbaum Institute Alexandre integrates the RG “Design, Diversity and New Commons”. He contributes to developing the sustainable digital sovereignty concept, mainly by focusing on educational platforms and by bringing perspectives from the South.
