Dipl. Jur. Titus Pünder

Research Fellow

About

Titus Pünder is a doctoral student at the Computer Science Department of Aalto University in Helsinki. At the Weizenbaum Institute, he would like to continue his interdisciplinary work at the interface between computer science and law. One focus of his research lies in the interpretation of law as a “complex system”, which he examines using the methods of “network research”. Another facet of his work is focused on building the necessary data infrastructure to holistically capture and analyze societies and public debates.

After completing his law studies at Humboldt University with the 1st state examination, Titus followed his long-standing passion for programming, worked as a developer in a law firm and completed further training in the field of machine learning. These experiences have motivated him to pursue his interdisciplinary path academically as part of a doctorate. His research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Dr. Corinna Coupette and Prof. Dr. iur. Dipl.-Biol. Herbert Zech.

In addition to law and computer science, music takes up a large part of his time, energy and enjoyment. He composes and produces electronic music under the name Titus Flavius.
