Prof. Dr. Thomas Grisold

Former Research Fellow

Prof. Dr. Thomas Grisold is an assistant professor at the University of St. Gallen. Within his fellowship at the Weizenbaum Institute, Thomas will be studying organizational and managerial implications of behavioral visibility. More specifically, he will examine how organizational actors react to situations where their digital activities are being recorded, stored and analyzed.

In his research, Thomas studies digital phenomena through a variety of theoretical lenses, such as routine dynamics theory, affordance theory or predictive mind theory. Thomas’ work has been published in renown outlets  in the information systems field, organization studies and business process management.

Thomas has an interdisciplinary background in information systems, organization studies and cognitive science. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Notre Dame (United States), the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), Lancaster University (United Kingdom), the University of Palermo (Italy), and the University of Zagreb (Croatia). He worked for advertising agencies in Vienna, Zagreb, Belgrade and London.
