Melina Braun is a research associate in the research group Norm Setting and Decision Processes. She is a PhD candidate at the Humboldt University of Berlin under Prof. Dr. iur. Dipl.-Biol. Herbert Zech. Her research focuses on technology and intellectual property law, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and data . As part of her doctorate, she is researching open source AI.
Before working as a research associate, Melina Braun studied the double degree English Law and German Law LL.B. with first State Exam at King's College London in cooperation with the Humboldt University of Berlin. In addition to her studies, she worked as a student research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. iur. Dipl.-Biol. Herbert Zech at the Humboldt University of Berlin and as a Client Engagement Associate for a legal tech start-up in the field of document automation.
