Martha Stolze, MPhil

Martha Stolze is a research associate in the research group “Platform Algorithms and Digital Propaganda” at the Weizenbaum Institute, where she investigates the use of malign information for audience manipulation online. In her doctoral research at Free University Berlin, she regards the role of gender in Russian information influence, its resonance in Germany, and implications for platform regulation. For her work, she has been awarded the Best Abstract Award (ECREA) and Excellent Reviewer Award (ICA). Previously, she worked at the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, and in the Media Monitoring and Research Team at the General Secretariat of the Council in Brussels. Martha is former visiting researcher at the University College London and holds an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Oxford.
