Lorena Herzog

Associate Researcher

Lorena Herzog is a research fellow at the group “Globalization, Work and Production“ at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), as well as an associated researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute research group “Working with Artificial Intelligence”. She studied political and social sciences at Freie Universität and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with a one-year study visit at Tel Aviv University.

Her research focuses on the impact of digitalization and the ecological transformation on work and the economy, combining sociology of work and political economy perspectives. At the WZB Berlin, she currently conducts research on “Business model innovation in the digital and ecological transformation (GEMI)” and the challenges that arise for strategy development, organisation of work and co-determination. Previously she worked as a research assistant in the project “Automation, digitalization and virtualization of work in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis“ (2021-2023).
