Prof. Dr. Lauri Wessel
About
Lauri's ressearch foci are digital transformation, data governance, and digital health. At Weizenbaum Institute, he closely collaborates with Jan Mendling with whom he explores questions related to digital transformation and also runs the seminar series "WIS Quarterly".
Lauri is professor of Information Management and Digital Transformation at the European New School of Digital Studies (ENS); a transdisciplinary school at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. Prior to being appointed at Viadrina, Lauri was a professor at the University of Bremen prior to which he was Assistant Professor at Freie Universität Berlin. He was also an adjunct professor at NTNU Norway.
Lauri currently serves as president of the Special Interest Group about Digital Innovation, Transformation, and Entrepreneurship (SIG DITE) in the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Lauri's work has been published in core information systems journals such as Journal of the Association of Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal and Information and Organization. He has also published on organization theory journals such as Journal of Business Ethics and medicine journals such as BMC Geriatrics.
