Jana Pannier
Jana Pannier is a doctoral researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute and at the WZB. She holds an MA in Sociology and Technology Studies from Technical University of Berlin. Her research is situated at the intersections of the sociology of technology, the sociology of work, and critical data and algorithm studies and centers on visions and practices of use of AI-based decision support systems and connected modes of sensemaking and negotiation. Formerly, she worked also at the Weizenbaum Institute and at Freie Universität Berlin focussing on the social implications of algorithmic social regulation and social scoring technologies. She has also worked in AI research and development in a software company prior to her master’s studies.
