About
Jacob Kröger has been a doctoral researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute since January 2018. Previously, he studied engineering management at TU Berlin, Dublin City University and the University of Sydney, specialising in information and communication systems. His PhD project focuses on the privacy implications of mobile and IoT devices. Based on published experimental research, existing commercial products and filed patents, he investigates the wealth of sensitive information that can be inferred from the sensor data collected by consumer electronic devices and smart home appliances. Among other sensors, he has explored the privacy-invading potential of eye tracking data, smart meter readings, motion sensor data and voice recordings.
