Dr. Iraklis Vogiatzis

Former Research Fellow

Iraklis Vogiatzi is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Philosophy and History of Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, researching Digital Labor. He also holds a B.Sc in Digital Systems (University of Piraeus) and an M.Sc in History and Philosophy of Science (NKUA).

In his dissertation, he examines the processes of microtasking systems and the algorithmic management of labor on microwork platforms. He is also a research assistant at Hellenic Open University, working on science communication and critical inquiry of algorithms, and a member of the organization and scientific committee of the INDL-5 conference.

At Weizenbaum Institute, he takes the opportunity to focus on the sociological dimensions of algorithmic management in data annotation. This research delves into the power dynamics, labor conditions, and societal implications involved in this field, shedding light on the often overlooked social aspects of AI development.
