Alissa Steer

About

Alissa Theresa Steer is a Master’s student in Media and Political Communication at Freie Universität Berlin. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies with honors at the Technical University of Dresden and Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona. Since 2023, she has been supporting Dr. Julia Pohle’s projects in the Research Group on Politics of Digitalization as a student research assistant, contributing to publications on digital sovereignty, digital geopolitics, and surveillance technologies. In addition, she ran two Master’s seminars on current topics in digital policy alongside Dr. Julia Pohle and Prof. Jeanette Hofmann. As a student research assistant at the Weizenbaum Institute, she will support the project “The Data Center Observatory” led by André Ullrich, Clara Iglesias Keller, and David Rejeski.
