Doctoral Researcher
Sebastian Henningsen

Sebastian Henningsen is a researcher at the Weizenbaum-Institute and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, in an interdisciplinary group working on Cryptocurrencies and Blockchains. From 2009 to 2015 he obtained a B. Sc. (with honors) and a M. Sc. in computer science from the University of Technology in Kaiserslautern, with a scholarship from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung during 2013 and 2015.

His research focuses on the security and modeling of Peer-to-Peer networks in the context of Blockchain-Systems on the one hand, and algorithmic central banking, on the other hand. Other interests include mathematical modeling, in particular of communication networks as well as interdisciplinary questions in the context of distributed systems. He co-developed the stochastic network calculator with Michael Beck (advisor) and Steffen Bondorf.
