Dr. Phoebe V Moore

Dr. Phoebe V Moore is a Research Fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute during the Autumn semester 2018, working within the research group The Internet Policy Field. Moore is regularly an associate professor in Political Economy and Technology at the University of Leicester, School of Business, United Kingdom. Moore writes about how the integration of new technologies impacts workers, from a Marxist perspective. Arguing that the categories of human intelligence and reason are themselves not fixed, Moore considers the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) within capitalist conditions. At the Weizenbaum Institute, Moore is working on a project that looks at contemporary considerations of AI at work, in particular looking at the use of dashboards for data gathering and human resource management, and union responses to AI trends.
