Moritz Becker

Research Associate

Moritz Becker is research associate in the field of sociology at the Weizenbaum-Institute and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin at the Department of Computer Science. Moritz holds a M.Sc. in Sociology from London School of Economics and Political Science (with distinction) and a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Bonn. Upon completing his studies, he worked as a Junior Research Manager in the field of E-Business at a market research institute prior to joining Weizenbaum-Institute in April 2018.

Moritz's research lies at the intersection of organisational sociology and the sociology of technology. His work is concerned with blockchain-technology, particularly decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). He studies the coordinating effects of these technologies in the context of collective decision-making processes as well as the normative ideals associated with them in current discourses.
