Moritz Becker is research associate in the field of sociology in the interdisciplinary research group “trust in distributed environments” at the Weizenbaum-Institute and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Moritz holds a M.Sc. in Sociology from London School of Economics and Political Science (with distinction) and a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Bonn. Upon completing his studies, he worked as a Junior Research Manager in the field of E-Business at a market research institute prior to joining Weizenbaum-Institute in April 2018.
His research interests lie at the intersection of organisational sociology and the sociology of technology. More specifically, his work is concerned with the topic of blockchain-technology and its coordinating effects in the context of collective decision-making processes as well as the normative ideals associated to blockchain technology within current discourses.
