Saimir Bala is a Research Associate at Humboldt University of Berlin and a Visiting Researcher at SAP. At the Weizenbaum Institute, his research explores how organizations can leverage process mining and artificial intelligence to improve digital work processes and decision-making in software development contexts.

He holds a PhD in Social Sciences and Economics with a focus on Information Systems. His research interests include Business Process Management, Software Engineering, Process Mining, and AI-based knowledge extraction from trace data. His work aims to bridge the gap between technical data analytics and organizational transformation.

Beyond his academic research, Saimir Bala actively contributes to collaborations between academia and industry and regularly participates in international conferences. He has published in peer-reviewed venues and is engaged in interdisciplinary projects that promote the responsible use of digital technologies in organizations.
