Nikolaus von Bernuth
About
Nikolaus von Bernuth is a research assistant and doctoral researcher at the Humboldt University of Berlin. In his research, he examines the European regulatory framework for the relationship between journalism and online platforms. As a guest researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute, he investigates how the data access rights laid down in the DSA can be better effected for researchers.
He studied law at the University of Leipzig and the Università di Bologna and passed his first state exam in 2023. From April 2024 to February 2026, he was a research assistant in the research project "Forschungsstelle Recht im DFN" at the Humboldt University of Berlin (previously: FU Berlin). Since October 2025 he has been a Fellow in the DFG Research Training Group "Dynamic Integration Regulations" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Katharina de la Durantaye, LL.M. (Yale).
