Leonie Terfurth
Person
Leonie Terfurth started working at the Department of Psychology of Socio-technical Systems at the Technische Universität Braunschweig in February 2024, where she investigates the use of XR technologies in security-relevant socio-technical systems. The cooperation project between the TU Braunschweig and the Weizenbaum Institute focuses on the potential of Augmented Reality to increase the population's awareness towards and protective behaviour in flood events.
She studied Human Factors at the Technical University of Berlin, focusing on human-robot interaction and haptic interaction in virtual worlds. Her interest was in the study of implicit measures. Next to her studies, she investigated knowledge transfer of researchers with society, politicsand industry as a research assistant at the Center for Responsible Research and
Innovation at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO). Prior to her master studies she worked on the development of human-technology systems in a maritime context at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE).
