Student Assistant

About

Since November 2025 Hale Dedeoğlu has been a student assistant in the research group „Platform Algorithms and Digital Propaganda“ at the Weizenbaum Institute.

She supports the team in qualitative analysis of digital content, focusing on discourse analysis, content evaluation, and the study of algorithmic influence on public opinion. Her responsibilities include systematic literature review, data analysis, coding and contributing to empirical studies on topics such as digital propaganda and platform regulation.

Hale Dedeoğlu is currently pursuing an MA in Sociology with a focus on „European Societies“ at Freie Universität Berlin. Previously, she completed an MSc in Information Technology at Istanbul Technical University and a BA in Sociology at Boğaziçi University. Her interdisciplinary background combines sociological theory with technical knowledge, enabling her to critically analyze digital platforms and their societal impacts.
