About

Frederik Heinz is a political theorist and investigates the political implications of state digitization in the research group ”Technology, Power and Domination”. His focus is on the history of ideas of technical-state control on the one hand and the use of data and artificial intelligence as political instruments on the other.

He studied philosophy, sociology and political theory at the Goethe University Frankfurt, the Technical University Darmstadt and the University of Toronto and teaches at the University of Hildesheim. In between, he supported various digitization projects for federal ministries as a management consultant, including a strong focus on digital sovereignty.
