Dr. Emilija Gagrčin
About
Emilija Gagrčin studies political media use, with a particular focus on the social, normative, and infrastructural dimensions of political communication. Her current research explores how people experience and make sense of democracy amid social, environmental, and technological change.
Emilija worked at the Weizenbaum Institute during her PhD studies (2019–2023), supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Emmer (Freie Universität Berlin). As a central member of the former research group Digital Citizenship, she examined political participation and citizenship norms in social media environments in her dissertation. She remains affiliated with the group Weizenbaum Panel, pursuing questions around intersectionality and mixed-method approaches to studying citizenship norms.
