Dr Douglas Parry
Dr Douglas Parry is a Senior Lecturer in Socio Informatics at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and, as part of the Department of Information Science, is a founding member of the Cognition and Technology Research Group.
His research concerns the interplay between digital technologies, human behaviour, and mental health and well-being, with a particular emphasis on the methods and measures used to investigate these phenomena.
His research at the Weizenbaum Institute will focus on the methods and measures used to investigate media uses and effects. Specifically, during the research fellowship he plans on working with partners in the MethodsLab to 1) develop new tools to process data donations, 2) analyse log tracking and experience sampling data, and 3) organise collaborative workshops on methods and practices for digital trace data collection and analysis.
