DSA40 Data Access Days

The first DSA40 Data Access Days will bring together different stakeholders from all kinds of backgrounds to connect, exchange, and collaborate around data access.

Join us on 25 and 26 September for a two-day event dedicated to exploring data access under Article 40 of the Digital Services Act (DSA). Day 1 offers keynotes, panels, and expert insights to reflect on public data access, explore future paths for non-public access, and foster collaboration toward a responsible, sustainable data access ecosystem. Day 2 dives into hands-on work with applications for 40(4) data access, covering relevant theoretical foundations, and offering practical expert guidance.

The DSA 40 Data Access Collaboratory will monitor and evaluate the legislation’s implementation process to ensure that scientists and non-profit organisations receive data access for the study of systemic risks. This requires the effective coordination of various actors (from science, civil society, politics, and platforms) on different levels (national, international, and transnational) with regards to different kinds of data (from non-sensitive public data to sensitive non-public data) available through various interfaces (such as APIs, archives, or sandboxes). It's a joint project by the Weizenbaum Institute and the European New School of Digital Studies.
