Marco Rondina

About
Marco Rondina is a third-year PhD student in Computer and Control Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. He is a member of the Nexa Center for Internet and Society. His current research at the Weizenbaum Institute investigates the human work behind the generation of synthetic data and aims to provide guidelines for adequate documentation of synthetic datasets.
He holds a master's degree in computer engineering with a specialisation in data analytics. As part of his PhD project on the responsible use and development of AI, he is investigating how to measure and improve the quality of training datasets, combined with audits of the resulting models.
His academic interests include algorithmic discrimination, bias detection and mitigation, data and model documentation, software engineering, policy advice and, more generally, the political evaluation of AI technologies.
