Melanie Jacobsen

Melanie Jacobsen is a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the “Well-Being in the Digital World” research group. Her research focuses on the effects of antisocial behavior in the digital world on perception and behavior, as well as the consequences of sexist online content for well-being and social attitudes. She primarily investigates these issues using quantitative methods, including longitudinal survey studies and experiments. She wrote her master’s thesis on misogynistic ideologies on social media. She earned her master’s degree in Work, Organizational, and Health Psychology at Freie Universität Berlin and KU Leuven.

Melanie Jacobsen has served as a reviewer for conferences such as the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) and the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), as well as for In-Mind Magazine. As part of various knowledge-transfer events, she also participated in public dialogue initiatives in collaboration with the University of Potsdam and gave presentations on her research.
