Marek Jessen

Former Guest Researcher

Marek Jessen is a Research Fellow in the research group “Normsetting and Decision Processes”. His research focus lies in privacy in payments and central bank digital currencies (CBDC). He is currently working on the research project Money as a Data Carrier under the direction of Carola Westermeier at ZEVEDI – Center for Responsible Digitalization.

Previously, he worked as an associate for Digital Finance at the Association of German Banks and as trainee at the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).

He came to Berlin for his master's International Relations at Free University Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Potsdam. He also studied for an acadmeic year in Paris (Sciences Po). In his Bachelor's degree he studied political science in Marburg and in Brno (Masarykova Univerzita).
