Prof. Dr. Diego Werneck Arguelhes
Diego Werneck Arguelhes is Associate Professor of Law at the Insper Institute for Education and Research (São Paulo, Brazil), and a Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI). He holds LL.B and M.A. degrees from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and LL.M. and J.S.D. degrees from the Yale Law School.
Prof. Arguelhes was a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for International Law and Comparative Public Law (Heidelberg) and at the Information Society Project at Yale Law School, as well as a Hauser Global Law Research Fellow at the NYU School of Law. He was a founding co-chair (2019-2022) of the Brazilian Chapter of ICON-S.
His research focuses on constitutional law and judicial politics. At the Weizenbaum institute, Prof. Arguelhes will collaborate with Dr. Clara Iglesias Keller on a project on the potential, limitations, and broader implications of judicial engagement with disinformation in contexts of threats to democracy.
