About

Sophia Graf is a research assistant in the Digital News Dynamics group. As part of the DSA 40 Data Access Collaboratory, she studies the implementation of data access for researchers under the Digital Services Act. She also coordinates a citizen science panel as part of the data donation project Dein Feed, Deine Wahl (Your feed, your choice).

Sophia holds a master’s degree in Media and Political Communication from Freie Universität Berlin. Prior to that, she studied Media and Communication Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Political Science at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the University of Göttingen, and the University of Mannheim. In addition to questions of data access, Sophia's research focuses on tech-facilitated gender-based violence. In her master’s thesis, she analysed the moderation of non-consensual intimate deepfakes on major pornographic platforms in the EU.

From 2022 to 2024, Sophia worked as a student assistant in the institute’s communications team and produced the W\100 audio feature on Joseph Weizenbaum.
