About

Paul-Julius Hillmann has been a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Process Management and Information Systems of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since 2025.

His current research is part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) FONDA (Phase 2), which focuses on the Foundations of Workflows for Large-Scale Scientific Data Analysis. Within this project, he contributes to the subproject C2: Early Workflow Design: From Collaborative Scientific Problem-Solving to DAW Specifications.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Universität Bielefeld in Computer Science and Social Science, followed by a Master's in Computer Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. With a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, his Master’s thesis focused on cross-organizational process mining exploiting commonalities using data about processes from German state parliaments.
