Oliver Meurer, M.A.
About
Oliver Meurer is a student assistant in the “Community Data Centers” research project led by Dr. André Ullrich as part of the “Digitalization, Sustainability, and Participation” research group.
Oliver is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Studies at the University of Vienna. Previously, he earned his bachelor’s degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, and before that, he successfully completed vocational training as a bank clerk. He works as a tutor for Transdisciplinary Development Research at the University of Vienna. During his bachelor’s program, he spent a semester abroad at Roskilde University studying International Studies, and during his master’s program, he spent a semester abroad at the College of Liberal Studies at Seoul National University (SNU). He has also completed various internships, including at Refugees Welcome International in Barcelona, Question Me & Answer in Vienna, and FIAN Austria in Vienna. Furthermore, as part of his bachelor’s thesis, in collaboration with refugee artists and Question Me & Answer, he drafted a manifesto on the political participation of refugee artists living and working in Vienna, with the goal of promoting the political participation of marginalized artists.
