About

Martin Wählisch is a visiting fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute, where he focuses on the new generation of deliberative technologies. His work centers on how AI can support and enhance collective discussion and decision-making processes. He is also an Associate Professor of Transformative Technologies, Innovation, and Global Affairs at the University of Birmingham, UK, and an associate researcher at the Center for International Peace Operations, Germany. Currently on special leave from the United Nations, he previously led the innovation team within the UN Secretariat's Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (UN DPPA). His research interests include technology for peace, human-machine interaction, and futures thinking.
