Laura Pföhler, M.A.
About
Laura Pföhler is a research associate and PhD candidate in the research group "Digitalization and Opening of Science." She studied Sociology at the University of Mannheim and Cultural Mediation with a focus on Theater in Hildesheim, as well as the Master's in Sociology with a focus on Technology Studies at Technische Universität Berlin. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Critical Data Studies and Science and Technology Studies.
In her current work, she examines the epistemological implications of (generative) artificial intelligence in scientific contexts, analyzing how these technologies reconfigure research and evaluation practices, disciplinary boundaries, and the conditions of knowledge production. She brings an interdisciplinary approach to her work and is engaged with a broad spectrum of methodological tools, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
