Jonas Barth, M.Sc.

Research Fellow

About

Jonas Barth has been a research associate at the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at Technical University of Darmstadt since the beginning of 2022. His research in production management focuses on lean and circular production systems, and he leads the research group Center for Industrial Productivity (CiP) at PTW.  His research focuses on the competence development of industrial employees for circular production and value creation based on Learning Factories.

As part of the planned research project at the Weizenbaum Institute, a competence-oriented Learning Factory scenario for data-based circular economy is to be developed for the Industrial Transformation Lab (LSWI). The objective is to enable students to experience central interrelationships between product data, return processes, condition assessment, circular decision-making logic, and circular value creation in a realistic learning environment. To further develop the Learning Factory concept and promote scientific exchange, he is actively involved in the International Association of Learning Factories (IALF) as well as in working groups focusing on circular economy.
