Dr. Jan Grenzebach

Research Fellow

About

Jan Grenzebach is a fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute in the research group “Working with Artificial Intelligence” as part of the BAuA research project F2602, “Metrics for measuring data characteristics in the training of high-risk AI systems”. A collaboration was already in place beforehand and resulted in a joint publication on “Fairness Engineering”. This exchange is to be sustained and further expanded through mutual research visits.

Jan Grenzebach has an interdisciplinary research background. His work focuses in particular on the interaction between generative models and users. He applies established methods from the cognitive sciences to modern language models in order to better understand their content, functioning, use, and impact, especially for biases.

Within the BAuA unit “Artifical Intelligence in Work Systems”, he is also involved in standardization processes and provides policy advice.
