Dr. Irina Heimbach
Person
Irina is an assistant professor of digitalization at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and is visiting the research group “Well-being in the Digital World” by Prof. Krasnova to work on a joint project on digital competencies which are needed to successfully navigate modern life.
Irina’s research centers particularly on human-algorithm interaction, conversational agents, algorithmic decision making, information privacy, and data analytics. She applies econometric methods and experiments. Her research has been published in Information Systems Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, BISE, Electronic Markets and Journal of Business Economics as well as in international conferences in Information Systems, Marketing and Computer Science.
Irina’s research won the Claudio Ciborra-Award of the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2013 and experienced wide media coverage.
She received her PhD in Information Systems from TU Darmstadt (2016) and holds diploma in Business Administration from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (2010) and diploma in German Studies from Udmurt State University in Izhevsk, Russia (2003).
