Elena Mijares Lopez is a student assistant in the research group “Digitalization and Opening up Science” at the Weizenbaum Institute, where she supports research on bias, inclusivity, and ethical accountability in generative AI systems within scientific contexts. She is particularly interested in how digital systems and data infrastructures can reinforce or challenge social disparities, approaching these questions through feminist and inclusive data perspectives.

She is currently completing a Master's in Data Science for Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin, with a background in Social Sciences from the University of Cologne.
